Cone candle

Cone Candles

1. GETTING STARTED

For the best burning experience, trim the wick of your Candle Kiosk cone candle to 6mm before you light it, and burn no longer than 3 hours at a time. If the flame gets too high, extinguish the flame, let the candle cool down, trim the wick, and relight.

Our cone candles have been designed to stand steady and burn evenly. To avoid dripping, do not expose them to a draught and do not place them too close together. If dripping occurs, remove the source of the draught, place candles further apart or place the candle on a drip tray. Always make sure to place candles on a non-flammable, stable surface.

2. BEST PRACTICES

  1. Trim wick to 6mm before lighting
  2. Place burning candles 10cm apart
  3. Avoid drafts to prevent drip & smoke
  4. Use a heat-proof non-flammable base
  5. Don’t burn a candle all the way down

Pillar candle

Pillar Candles

1. GETTING STARTED

To get the most out of your Candle Kiosk pillar candle, trim the wick to 6mm & burn it until the wax pool reaches the edge of the candle (this takes at least 3-4 hours) the first time you light it to maximise the size of the burn pool.

This is because the size of the wax pool during the first burn determines the life of the candle. Subsequent burns won't melt the wax beyond the initial wax pool, so if it didn't melt close enough to the edge of the candle, it could leave a thick, unused mantle ('tunnelling').

2. BEST PRACTICES

  1. Trim wick to 6mm before lighting
  2. Place burning candles 10cm apart
  3. Avoid drafts to prevent drip & smoke
  4. Use a heat-proof non-flammable base
  5. Don’t burn a candle all the way down

Textured pillar candle

Textured Pillars

1. GETTING STARTED

For best results, trim the wick to 10mm & burn your Candle Kiosk textured pillar candle for at least 5 hours the first time you light it.

Due to its large diameter, this candle can be kept burning for long periods of time; you can light it in the morning and keep it burning all day. Should tunnelling occur, 'hug' the candle by pushing the soft wax edge at the top of the candle inwards towards the flame, so that it has a chance to melt.

If the flame size diminishes, extinguish the flame and carefully pour out excess wax while it is liquid.

  2. Place burning candles 10cm apart
  3. Avoid drafts to prevent drip & smoke
  4. Use a heat-proof non-flammable base

Taper candles

Taper Candles

1. IT'S ONLY NATURAL

All our taper candles, including Tusk and Spiral tapers, are handmade from natural coconut wax.

Please note that due to the nature of the wax, our taper candles may produce a fine white film over time. This is a naturally occurring effect known as blooming. It doesn’t affect the quality or burning of the candle, and can be easily removed with a soft cloth or tissue.

2. BEST PRACTICES

  1. Trim wick to 6mm before lighting
  2. Place burning candles 10cm apart
  3. Avoid drafts to prevent drip & smoke
  4. Use a heat-proof non-flammable base
  5. Use a drip tray if required
  6. Don’t burn a candle all the way down

Storage

Regardless of the style or type of candle, it pays to store them in appropriate conditions if you won't be using them for a while. Candles are sensitive to temperature and light. Prevent candles from fading, cracking and melting by placing your candles in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, dust and fluorescent light. Store your candles in an upright position and don’t leave them in a car on a warm day, or they might warp from the heat.
